Church on the Blood and Ganina Yama Monastery
About the excursion
Yekaterinburg is the city where the dynasty of the last Russian emperor ended. The Church on the Blood is one of the main attractions of modern Yekaterinburg. The monumental temple was built in 2003 in the Russian-Byzantine style. It stands on the site of the house where, on the night of July 17, 1918, the Bolsheviks shot the family of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II and his entourage.
Next we will go to the Ganina Yama tract. This is the mine in which the Bolsheviks tried to hide the remains of those executed, but in the end they were forced to hide them. Today there is a Monastery in the name of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers.
Thousands of people come here to honor the memory of those innocently killed and canonized. There are 7 churches, a museum, an Orthodox pilgrimage center and a Worship Cross over mine No. 7. At the same time, Ganina Yama is a very picturesque and beautiful place, surrounded by greenery and flowers.
